About Saccharomyces boulardii

S. boulardii is a special probiotic that’s a strain of yeast, not bacteria. Studies have shown that S. boulardii is safe and effective for cats and dogs and that it can prevent and reduce diarrhea from multiple causes. It has anti-inflammatory properties. As a probiotic, it is especially helpful for regrowing gut microbe populations that have become imbalanced and for promoting healthy skin.


And unlike bacterial probiotics, S. boulardii isn’t affected by antibiotics, so it can also be used during antibiotic treatment to help with the digestive side effects that antibiotics often cause. Studies have shown that when S. boulardii is given along with an antibiotic, pets are much less likely to develop diarrhea during or after the course of medication.


S. boulardii is also resilient to stomach acid, so when it reaches the intestines, it’s still intact and alive, while many bacterial probiotics die in the stomach and never make it to the gut. Once in the gut, S. boulardii produces friendly compounds called short-chain fatty acids, which support a diverse microbiome, a strong gut barrier, and a well-functioning immune system.


About Fructooligosaccharides (FOS)


Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) are tiny, soluble fibers. The raw material from which the FOS in our S. boulardii + FOS is produced is Non-GMO beet sugar*. These particular fibers are prebiotic, meaning that they are the preferred food of beneficial microbes like the ones in your pet’s gut. Making sure all the beneficial members of the gut microbiome get enough of the right food is crucial not just for healthy digestion but also for a strong immune system, healthy skin, and even a happy mood. Studies in dogs have shown that supplementation with FOS improves both gut health and immune function.


*The geographical origin of the Non-GMO beet sugar is as follows: Netherlands, Poland, Denmark, France, Germany, U. K.

The S. boulardii + FOS contains a clear scoop. Use the scoop to measure out the suggested amount of powder, according to the dosing chart. Then, mix the powder into your pet’s food at mealtime.

This Really Works!

I recently ordered this for my little guy who has had digestive issues since he was a kitten. He recently had a diarrhea episode that was brought on by giving him a couple of treats that were not part of his limited ingredient diet. He was treated with 50 MG of Metronidazole which cleared everything up within a couple of days. However I’ve noticed a marked improvement in his stools since using this product. You only need a small amount that you add to their food. If you are reading this and thinking is there something that can help my cat’s digestive issues or episodes of diarrhea please try this - so glad I found this and will continue to use going forward!

This is a great product and really helps my Newfie. It just needs one thing… a bigger jar for those of us with giant breeds. Janis has perfect poop now.

Worth the money

This helps my dog who has IBD. He does not get an upset stomach nearly as much as he use to. It took awhile to figure out what combination works best for him but AnimalBiome S. boulardii + FOS Powder and his probiotic have made him so much better.

This Really Works!
