We are looking for a Veterinary Customer Service Specialist to join our growing team. This is a remote, part time position of ~20 hours/week with the possibility of developing into a full time position. Hourly rate is commensurate with experience. This position requires explaining complex concepts in ways that are accessible to the general public. Training is provided and experience with microbiology is not required. All information needed to be successful in the position is available, but it will take time and effort to learn. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can self-teach as needed. Veterinary Customer Service Specialist
We are looking for a full-time Laboratory Technician to join our growing team in Oakland, California. The Laboratory Technician will report to the Director of Animal Care. The Laboratory Technician must be comfortable handling animal feces (mostly from cats and dogs but also other animals including mice, rabbits, ferrets, and horses) in a laboratory setting. We take all appropriate safety and biohazard precautions, but applicants should understand that handling stool on a daily basis will be required. Ability to maintain a high degree of cleanliness and organization are crucial.
Responsibilities may include: contributing to the running of a stool bank of material from healthy cats and dogs, processing donations, preparing material for diagnostic testing for parasites and pathogens, preparing material for delivery in veterinary clinics as well as in capsules, maintaining laboratory equipment, and performing inventories.
