great for my dog's "teef"

I brush my dog's teeth daily because i'm lucky enough that he allows me to, but brushing doesn't get beneath the gumline, and teef does. he doesn't taste it in the water, and his water consumption has not decreased at all since we started. highly recommend!

Our senior cat / 12 yrs old needed this and he seems to respond well - I tried another product BACI but the content was not right for him with the algae it varech - a no no for our dog and cat - I would order again for our cat definitively - 👍

Dog Breath

TEEF appears to have helped my 7yo poodle mix’s breath. I also started her on a new probiotic when I started TEEF and feel both may have helped her breath. However, I was hoping this product would help with slowing the development of my dogs plaque and tartar. I use to be able to brush their teeth when they were younger but now as older dogs it’s become more challenging to brush regularly. I’m going to have them brush their own teeth. I bought dog toothbrushes (they look like a chew toy). It has areas where you add toothpaste and they’ll get to it once they chew down on the built-in bristles. Need to find a toothpaste they like now…I’ll see if this helps remove their plaque and tartar.

I have not done the oral health test but will be submitting their gut health test soon.

Just a dab will do!

I have 3 chihuahuas that are seniors. I really think that Teef has been helpful with their breath. It’s easy to do and they don’t even know it’s in their water! I had already started using before this offer came and was happy to find it at one of my favorite sites.

Why does TEEF turn my dog’s water slightly yellow?

The vitamin B6 in Protektin42™ turns yellow when it is exposed to water, which accounts for the slight color change. Don’t worry - it’s still safe and effective.

Can I make a large batch ahead of time?

Yes! We recommend filling a pitcher or bottle with water and Protektin42™, and then store it in the refrigerator to replenish throughout the day as needed. For half of a gallon of water, use 1 scoop of Protektin42™. For a full gallon of water, use 2 scoops of Protektin42™.

What if I have multiple dogs?

For homes with multiple dogs, we recommend filling a pitcher or bottle with water and Protektin42™, and then store it in the refrigerator to replenish throughout the day as needed. For half of a gallon of water, use 1 scoop of TEEF. For a full gallon of water, use 2 scoops of Protektin42™.

My dog has kidney disease. Is Protektin42™ safe for my dog?

This product is safe for pets with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Sodium bicarbonate, an ingredient in this product, is commonly used to slow the progression of chronic kidney disease.

My dog has cardiovascular disease. Is Protektin42™ safe for my dog?

Dogs with cardiovascular disease are generally advised to reduce the amount of sodium in the diet. This product contains a very small amount of sodium, which is negligible for a cat or dog with cardiovascular disease. A scoop of Protektin42™ contains about 3 mg of sodium.

Because Protektin42™ is not dosed by weight, the smallest dogs get the largest dose relative to their weight. The most extreme case would be for a very small dog, 4.4 lbs, with cardiovascular disease on a limited-sodium diet. The recommended limit of sodium for this dog is 50 mg of sodium per day. Protektin42™ only provides 3 mg, or 6% of the total. Most dogs are much larger, so the Protektin42™ contributes even less: it contributes only 1.2% of daily sodium needs for a 22 lb dog on a low-sodium diet, and only 0.5% of daily sodium needs for a 50lb dog on a low-sodium diet. In short, the amount of sodium in Protektin42™ is insignificant compared to the overall sodium needs of a dog with cardiovascular disease.

Can I use this product with a water filter?

This product is not to be used with a water filter. A water filter will remove the Protektin42™ additive from the water, so pets drinking from the bowl will never get any Protektin42™. It is perfectly fine to mix Protektin42™ into filtered water.

My dog shares a water bowl with a cat. Is this product safe for cats?

Yes, this product is safe for cats. In households with both cats and dogs, we recommend Protektin42™ rather than Protektin30™ (as dogs can sometimes detect the chlorella in Protektin30™).

How long is it effective once I’ve mixed it with water?

Once the powder has been mixed with water, plan to use it within 2-3 days. Protektin42™ doesn’t contain any preservatives, so it doesn’t keep for long periods of time.

Are there any potential side effects?

Protektin42™ contains a very small amount of soluble fiber, which in rare cases can cause soft or loose stools. If this occurs with your dog, temporarily reduce the Protektin42™ dose by half until their stools return to normal.

Is this product to be used in addition to brushing, or instead of brushing?

Protektin42™ is most effective when it is used in addition to brushing and regular dental care by a veterinarian.
